Capricorn is the sign of the mountain — the long ascent, the patient climb, the one who knows how to gather what’s needed and build something that holds. Where Cancer roots us in tenderness and the inner home, Capricorn asks us to look up at the structure of our outer life and the work we’re actually here to do.
A full moon in Capricorn offers us clarity. It wants the recalibration. It wants the honest check-in. It wants you to see what you’ve actually been building since the seeds went in the ground.
Beyond all the structure-and-stability talk: Capricorn is the sign that grounds the spiritual into reality. It’s how the unseen becomes something you can touch. The vision you’ve been carrying somewhere in your body, somewhere underneath the day-to-day. Capricorn is the energy that gives it form, allowing it to become tangible.
So this full moon, we’re going back. Back to late December, back to early January, back to the seeds you were planting in the last Capricorn season. The projects, the visions, the goals that were lit up for you then.
Some of those seeds have grown into something real. Some have fizzled out. Some you’ve forgotten you planted. And some are still alive but waiting for you to remember them.
Whatever you find when you look, there's no failure here. Some goals were meant to fall away. Some are ready to be revised. And one is ready for you to recommit to it now, with the steadier, more grounded version of yourself who has been doing the work all year.
For this ritual, you’ll need:
About 20 minutes in a quiet, private space
A journal and something to write with
A candle
A grounding essential oil if you have one — cedar is especially aligned. If not, you can imagine yourself among trees, in a field, hands in the dirt
Something that holds the weight of patience for you — a stone, a piece of wood, an heirloom, anything that calls to you
Light your candle. Place your object beside it. Sit upright rather than lying down. Capricorn wants the structure of your own spine. Let yourself go back to the seeds, and let one come forward.
After you've sat with the ritual — how are you feeling?
Take some time to reflect on what surfaced and let yourself continue to write for as long as it feels good. And once you've named the goal, write it somewhere you'll see it daily. A sticky note on your computer. A photo of your journal page set as your phone background. The fridge, the mirror, the corner of the desk. Capricorn loves the visual reminder, the small steady cue that keeps the vision present.
