New Moon In Leo Ritual

A Ritual for Meeting the Younger You

Leo is the sign we usually assign to the spotlight — the roar, the crown, the one at the center of the room. And there’s real truth in that. But underneath all the shine, Leo is the sign of the heart. The sign that rules children, our relationships with children, and the child living inside each of us. The sign that asks whether you have the courage to be seen without your armor on — first by yourself, then by anyone else.

A new moon in Leo lands with this particular kind of tenderness. It’s a fire sign, yes, but the fire here isn’t performance. It’s courage. The steady flame that lets you drop the walls long enough to actually meet yourself.

So this new moon, we’re going to do something Leo would love. We’re going to visit the younger version of you.

Not to fix her, or to tell her what she got wrong, or to teach her something she should have known. But to see her. To let her see you. To find out what she came here to say.

Because Leo knows that your inner child arrives as a teacher. She has a message. This lunation is asking you to be still enough to hear it.

For this ritual, you’ll need:

  • About 20 minutes in a quiet, private space

  • A journal and something to write with

  • A candle — Leo’s element is fire, and the flame is here to lend you a little of its courage

Light your candle. Let yourself gaze into the flame for a few moments before you settle. Soften through the jaw, the third eye, the space around your heart. Notice any armor you’re wearing today, and let yourself set it down. This is not the moment to be on guard.

And then, when you’re ready, let a younger version of yourself come forward in your mind’s eye. Don’t overthink it — trust whichever version arrives. Let her see you. Let yourself see her.

She has come with a message.

After you’ve sat with the ritual — how are you feeling? Take some time to reflect on what surfaced and let yourself continue to write for as long as it feels good.

While the meeting is still fresh, write down what she said to you — even if it came as an image, a feeling, a color, a sound, rather than a sentence. And write down what you said back to her — the words of love, of acknowledgment, of you’re doing a great job that she may or may not have received the first time around.

To close, place your right hand over your heart and your left hand on top. Feel your heartbeat. This is the same heart that has carried you through every chapter of your life, and it’s still carrying you now.
