The most profound experience of my career
Facilitating a somatic rebirth ritual
Two weeks ago I woke up to a feed on fire.
As I've done so many times in the last few years I took a deep breath and sat with the news. As I've heard many times before, a little voice in my head said:
"Does your work really matter in light of this?"
I had this big event planned for the very next day, the OVERFLOW Ceremony. I was excited and also the current events made me pause. Was this where I should be spending my time, was this the message people needed to hear right now?
A much louder, much stronger voice replied,
"This is EXACTLY why it matters."
And I felt that truth in every one of my cells.
This is not the first time we've seen catastrophe in our country. This is not the first time we've seen entire communities destroyed overnight. And I would gamble it won't be the last.
We are in turning times. We are in a moment of great, societal change.
It has never been more apparent that our old ways are not working. Our systems, our structures, our governments. Our ways of doing business and relating.
Our planet is crying out.
Our bodies are speaking loud and clear.
Our spirits are saying: there is another way.
I believe we each hold a key to creating the world we wish to see.
We each have one piece to the puzzle that leads to a more beautiful, loving, equitable, sustainable and generative reality.
No one of us can make all the changes alone. That's a tough truth to wrestle with, especially for our crazy individualistic culture, but it can also be such a relief.
When you bring your unique magic to the world in a bigger, truer way, you are doing your part, even when the part seems unrelated to the latest news headline or catastrophe.
And further, when you fully claim your medicine and your role in our evolving world, you allow others to do the same.
This is the real why behind OVERFLOW.
You want more - more money, clients, followers, influence, power, experiences, creative space - not because you are greedy or selfish.
You want more because you know you have more to offer the world.
Wanting more, specifically this energy of OVERFLOW, is actually the most generous desire.
After the live ceremony I posted "This was hands down the most profound experience of my career."
It was meaningful and joyful for me to facilitate, but that's not the main reason why it felt so profound.
OVERFLOW was profound because I looked around the room and saw 20 other women (and 20 more on the replay) deeply devoted to being a big part of the change they wish to see in the world.
Women who are willing to face their own fears, their own resistance to show up bigger and brighter.
Women who are changing industries, shifting paradigms and re-patterning traumas, not only in their "work" but also thru their very being.
I felt the impact we had and have.
I felt such hope and excitement for the future.
Call me crazy, but I felt our energy from that ceremony pouring healing on those very fires burning across the country.
